About Casa Mortero in Madrid (In the Michelin Guide)

A few thoughts after our visit to @casamortero in Madrid.

✦ I loved the complimentary mushroom sauce, especially paired with their bread. We also opted for olive oil to dip the bread in. It was so good that I tracked down a bottle of the same brand (Oro) and brought it home.

✦ Torrezno was on my bucket list, and it did not disappoint. Extremely flavorful and perfectly rendered pork bites with crisp skin. They were served on paprika-flavored mashed potatoes, which was a new and very pleasant combination for me.

✦ The grilled cod with peppers and onion sauce was delightfully tender, juicy, and tasty, with a delicate cod flavor.

✦ The stewed oxtail with wine sauce came with the silkiest mashed potatoes I have ever tasted. The meat was melting in my mouth, and the wine sauce was nicely balanced.

We did not get a chance to try dessert, so we definitely have at least one more reason to come back.

Finally, a shout-out to the service team, who were very friendly, professional, and made us feel welcome. 🙏

PS: Casa Mortero is recommended by the @michelinguide and considering it was one of the best dining experiences I had in Madrid, I think it is a well-deserved recommendation. 😊
