"We’re taking you to a place that makes the best paella in Valencia"

🥘 “We’re taking you to a place that makes the best paella in Valencia… and it’s recommended in the Michelin Guide,” our friends said. They already had me at “the best paella,” but I got really curious after “Michelin”.

We arrived at @goyagalleryrestaurant , which, by the way, is located in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Valencia (check the last photos). We were among the first guests to arrive, and even though the place was packed by the time we got our food, it still felt quiet and cozy.
We were brought some delicious marinated olives, but to be fair, I have yet to taste bad olives in Spain. We also had codfish croquettes with allioli (I never thought codfish could taste so good), some Iberian ham croquettes, and a small scallop with a vinaigrette of vegetables.
I loved the Olivier salad with green olive foam. The best way I can describe it is that it’s the creamiest, softest, tastiest tuna salad (kind of) that has ever seen the light of day. And the chips that came with it were unexpectedly crumbly and flavorful.
Finally, a huge pan of senyoret paella with lobster was served. Look, I’m no paella expert, I’ve had maybe five paellas in my life (a couple of them were definitely pre-heated frozen dishes), but this one was by far the creamiest, with a balanced flavor and a nice crust. The lobster was, obviously, delicious.
All in all, we had a great experience and this was a highlight of our trip. ⭐️
